Fruit Trifle @ Fruit Custard with Jelly

Muka WeeWee lepas kena 'pok' sebab menyebok.
This is hands down one of my favourite desserts and it's sooooooo easy to make. Kalau aku jumpa nih kat open house mana2 mesti ambik secara pukal. Haaa gelojoh gitu...

Bahan-bahan:
(A) Base:
1 swiss roll (any flavour.. I prefer strawberry rolls but nowadays it gets harder to find)

(B) Kastard:
3 sudu besar tepung kastard (scoop byk2 kasi menimbun)
1 tin susu cair
1 tin air (pakai tin susu cair)
1 senduk gula (ikutkan resepinya 1 senduk rata tapi aku letak separuh sebab aku tak suka manis2. Lagipun swiss roll & jeli dah cukup manis dah)

(C) Topping:
1 paket jeli (aku suka Nona perisa strawberry)
1 tin mixed fruits (cari yang ada nata de coco. Serious lagi sedap)

Cara-cara:

(A)
  1. Potong swiss roll ikut suka korang lah nak tebal mana. Tapi jangan tebal sangat nanti tak muat nak sumbat bahan-bahan lain. Nak makan pun rasa roti je nanti...
  2. Susun swiss roll dalam dulang. Kalau ada ruang kat celah2 tu isikan dengan lebihan swiss roll. Mampatkan sikit and pastikan tak ada ruang kosong.
  3. Ambik air dari mixed fruit and basahkan swiss roll. Ni untuk elakkan swiss roll jadi kering nanti. Tapi jangan pi tuang pulak... Sikit2 je...
(B)
Jangan tinggal kastard atas api, kena kacau sentiasa. Nanti dia menggumpal tak cantik tekstur dia nanti. Pastikan jangan cair sangat (nanti rasa macam tak masak) dan jangan pekat sangat (nanti susah nak tuang dalam dulang). Just nice bak kata orang..
Tekan2 sikit supaya dia stay masa tuang jeli nanti. Kasi penuh ruang kastard tu baru sedap.
  2. Untuk jeli, ikut je arahan kat kotak. Lepas tu tuang atas kastard tadi.
  3. Simpan dalam peti sejuk sekurang-kurangnya satu malam.
Hasilnya....

Yang lebih nih aku balun sorang2 kat rumah. Muahahaha
Serius aku suka gila dessert ni. Dah la senang, sedap pulak tu... Dah 2x aku buat... Satu untuk pot luck raya department HR, lagi satu untuk pot luck Mensa. Dua2 ramai puji sedap.

Raya Recipe : No Bake Chocolate Almond Cornflakes Cookies (Biskut Cornflakes Coklat Badam)

I totally nailed that translation. HAHAHA

Hey there! Raya is less than a week left. Since I took two days off from work, I decided hey, why not do some Raya cookies? After searching online with the help of Mr Google, I found a simple recipe that requires no baking whatsoever. Cool, 'coz I don't quite know how to operate mum's microwave cum oven cum some-other-weird-stuff. :D:D:D

Ingredients:

Cornflakes (No measurements here; I add in until the cornflakes are fully coated)
500 g Baking chocolate
250 g Almond strips
Honey to your preference
200 g White baking chocolate (for deco)

Steps:
  1. First, roast almonds until they become golden brown. Monitor them closely as you don't want them to burn. Leave to cool.
  2. Melt chocolate using double boiler method. Some prefer melting on the stove but I like to use the rice cooker as the heat is more manageable and the chocolate will not harden as I prepare other ingredients.
  3. Add some honey. I skipped this step because I'm not into sweet stuff.
  4. While waiting for the chocolate to melt, crush the cornflakes to smaller pieces. Make sure they're still coarse but fine enough to spoon into the papercups.
  5. Once the chocolate is melted, add in the crushed cornflakes and almonds. Fold until they are evenly coated.
  6. Line the paper cups and spoon some batter into them.
  7. Lastly, decorate with white chocolate. Let them cool in room temperature.
Here's the end result:

The batch I made makes up 2 big jars plus one slightly smaller one, as shown below.

Reserved for Le Boyfriend :D
Voila~! Very simple, isn't it? Good luck!

P/S: I wanted to give credit to the blog I took the recipe from but somehow I couldn't find it. Not even in my history list. Has the blog being taken down? I'm not sure.
